2021 MES FILLES VINEYARD PINOT NOIR
10 barrels produced
The 2021 Mes Filles Vineyard Pinot Noir is a blend of 70% 667 Clone and 30% Pommard clone from three different vineyard blocks. The vineyard encircles the crown of a coastal hill, and thus each vineyard block varies widely in character based on its orientation around the hill. By precisely farming each block and blending the resulting wines into a single bottling, the sum of our Mes Filles wine is greater than the whole of its parts. The wine is always a joy to craft and robust aromatics and a seductive texture.
2021 ONE FIFTEEN PINOT NOIR
5 barrels produced
After a 1-year hiatus, 2021 marks the return of the115 Pinot Noir, our clonally designated offering. To further evolve the program and improve the wine, we chose to bring multiple vineyards to this blend as we source clone 115 from nearly every vineyard we work with. For us, 115 is about Old World aromatics and beautiful texture, and that’s exactly what this wine brings. The nose is gamey, earthy and has exotic herb sand spices. The mouthfeel is seamless and elegant. A barrel selected program where the only criteria is Clone 115 Pinot Noir fruit, the 2021 version incorporates a 500L puncheon barrel previously used for Chardonnay and 0 (yes, zero) percent new oak.
2021 RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY PINOT NOIR
42 barrels produced
Composed with a majority (57%) Estate fruit, and a sizable portion (18%) Mes Filles Vineyard, the 2021 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir has a coastal lean to it. Sebastopol Hills, our neighborhood in Russian River Valley, gets the most coastal marine influence in the AVA and the wine shows the hallmarks of this terroir: dark color, structured mouthfeel, and vivid berry fruit backed by an array of warm spices. This wine will pair well with rich foods and will age in the cellar gracefully for 10+ years.
2021 WALKER STATION VINEYARD CHARDONNAY
3 puncheon barrels produced
Our 2021 Walker Station Chardonnay checks all the stylistic boxes for how we prefer Chardonnay. Russian River Valley terroir, 58% new French oak, and full malolactic fermentation give the wine richness, concentration and depth; while moderate alcohol, very high natural acidity, and almost no lees stirring preserve freshness and tension. A wine that can be enjoyed young and energetic, or will surely gain integration and complexity with 4-6 years in the cellar.
2022 ROSÉ OF PINOT NOIR
2 barrels produced
With its short aging time in neutral oak, yeast inoculation, and filtering, our Rosé of Pinot Noir is the most consistent wine we make year after year. The 2022 is right in line with its peers from previous vintages and displays all the freshness, drinkability and balance we strive for. Kanzler Rosé is acid-driven, fresh, clean and vibrant, with a dry and snappy finish. This wine is ready for fun in the sun.
