From the article, “Alex Kanzler, son of founders Stephen and Lynda, used grapes from the 12-acre Lolita Ranch vineyard, planted by the Martinelli family on a steeply sloped hillside in the cool Green Valley appellation of the Russian River Valley.” “Its pithy character is an indication of the high level of phenolics in the wine, a mark of the vintage.
