Kanzler Family Vineyards has appointed wine industry veteran Daniel Fay as General Manager. Danny will assume responsibility for business operations in partnership with winemaker Alex Kanzler.
“It’s an honor to begin working with an authentic grape growing family focused on premium quality, environmental stewardship and a long-term commitment to the winegrowing business,” said Danny. “Kanzler Vineyards has been synonymous with ultra-premium Pinot Noir for decades. They are one of the pioneers who put the Sebastopol Hills region of the Russian River Valley on the map.”
In addition to growing world-class grapes, the Kanzler family built their own premium wine brand based on thoughtful farming and traditional, patiently crafted winemaking. “I grow grapes myself,” said Danny. “I have always wanted to work with a winery that has a sincere commitment to growing great fruit, a connection and commitment to the land and deep roots in the community. It’s a perfect fit. I’m incredibly excited to dedicate my time and effort to fulfilling the Kanzler’s vision.”
A Wine & Viticulture graduate of Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo and a Wine MBA graduate of Bordeaux École de Management in Bordeaux, France, Danny is a proud product of Sonoma. He has more than 10 years of experience in the wine industry, including serving as President and CEO of Envolve Winery and Director of Production at Corner 103 Winery. Danny has also held key board of director positions in Sonoma Valley Vintners & Growers Alliance, Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance, Sonoma Harvest Auction and Real Men Drink Pink.
“We wanted a strong partner for Alex,” said co-founders Steve and Lynda Kanzler. “We found our guy. Danny is a recognized wine business professional and community leader in Sonoma County whose skill set and expertise will help take Kanzler Family Vineyards to the next level.”
