The 2024 growing season in the Sebastopol Hills had a very different cadence than the year prior. Generous winter rains restored our Goldridge soils, setting the vines up beautifully for a balanced mid-March budbreak. July tested us with a notable heatwave, but 30 year-old estate vines proved their resilience; their deep roots and the moisture banked from winter allowed them to navigate the heat. August settled into classic coastal conditions, mild days and cool nights. Harvest arrived quickly, almost a month earlier than the previous year, and came in a concentrated window. Clusters were smaller, yields modest, and the fruit intensely colored and flavorful. The wines show poise and structure, with lifted aromatics.
