Jake’s responsibilities cover the full scope of operations from production to sales, including team management and finance.
He was born and raised in Rohnert Park, The Friendly City, where his family has some history. As a Sonoma County native, Jake was fortunate to spend high school summers working in the orchards at McEvoy Ranch in Petaluma, where he developed an appreciation for the attention to detail needed in farming a high quality product. He assisted in some of the planting of McEvoy’s first estate vineyards — his first exposure to the wine industry.
Jake temporarily left Sonoma County to attend Arizona State University, where he earned a degree in accounting to follow in the career path of his grandfather, who was an accountant and later city manager for Rohnert Park.
“When I used to come back home for summers and holidays, my dad and I would go track down the wineries we had enjoyed a bottle from. It was a great way to experience more parts of the county, and grow my wine knowledge.”
After graduating from ASU, he started his accounting and finance career in the auto industry, working for startup Carvana, and later moving through the ranks of Enterprise Holdings.
When it was time to focus on a career that would keep him in Sonoma County, he pivoted to an industry related to his formative experiences, and for which he has a passion: wine. He made a splash in the wine industry, first joining the management team at Gloria Ferrer Caves and Vineyards, and more recently working for the Harlan family domain in Napa.
